About Us
James D. Anker, founder and publisher, started in the educational book
publishing business in the late 1970s with several of the large New
York publishing houses (Harcourt, Macmillan, McGraw-Hill) before
starting Anker Publishing Company in 1989. After having established a
strong and reputable presence in the higher education market, Anker
Publishing was acquired by John Wiley & Sons Publishers in the
spring of 2007. Barclay Creek Press, launched in January 2008, is Anker’s new venture.
